If You’re Married With Children . . .

. . . you might be living an alternative lifestyle.

After David Wise won the gold medal for the freestyle skiing halfpipe, NBC Olympics ran this headline:

AlternativeLifestyle

You might wonder what is so “alternative” about David Wise’s lifestyle.

. . . Wise is mature far beyond his years. At only twenty-three years old, he has a wife, Alexandra, who was waiting patiently in the crowd, and together they have a two-year-old daughter waiting for them to return to their home in Reno, Nevada.

As an adult, David Wise is, gee, acting like an adult.  Evidently, adults behaving like children is now the norm and adults acting their age is now an “alternative lifestyle.”

Out of curiosity, I checked Wikipidia to see what they say is an alternative lifestyle.  I can live with Wikipedia’s definition,

An alternative lifestyle is a lifestyle diverse in respect to mainstream ones, or generally perceived to be outside the cultural norm.

Can you imagine the press if Wise and his wife were home educators?  That would make them down right weird!

I am saddened that the author, Skyler Wilder, would see a Christian, heterosexual marriage that has now turned into a family of three as an alternative lifestyle.  If Skyler Wilder is right, our nation is doomed.
