Am I the only one that finds it hysterical that the President chooses Ford to visit to highlight the recovery of the auto industry?  Yes, Ford.  The company that refused to take bailout money from the government.

Just across the state line less than 15 miles away in Kansas City, Kansas, is the General Motors Fairfax assembly plant.  If you wanted to highlight the recovery of the auto industry and show people how they couldn’t have done it without the government, wouldn’t the GM Fairfax plant be a better choice?

I’m glad he’s going to Ford and not GM.  I hope it serves as a reminder to everyone that businesses can and do function well without the help of the government.

WASHINGTON (AP) – President Barack Obama is going to the Ford plant near Kansas City to highlight the recovery of the auto industry.

The White House announced Friday’s visit to the Clay County village of Claycomo on Sunday. The visit is part of a weeklong effort to draw attention to the economic recovery five years after the Lehman Brothers collapse.

  1. Hi! I nominated you for the Liebster Award. If blog awards aren’t your thing, that is perfectly okay. Just please take the nomination as a compliment. Of course, I also realized after nominating you that you have way more than 200 followers. For some reason that did not show up correctly in my reader. But still, I enjoy your posts. And if you would like to pass it on to a few more bloggers who do not yet have so many followers, that would be great.

    1. Thank you very much! I feel so honored.

I know on my blog it says I have 923 followers, but only 58 of those are from WordPress. Since I use Publicize, it is also including my Twitter followers.

      This looks like fun.
